What For ?

some are good and caring
some can say let live
others not for sharing
take but cannot give

mischief-makers try to distort the truth, to promote a lie
but I just won't let them
bigots try to sway by expressing things evil tongues can say
but I won't abet them
they seem to enjoy aiming to annoy and trying to destroy
and to deprecate using words of hate
let them seek to taint and tar
I know them for what they are
nothing can touch the person that I adore
prejudice my love for you ?
what for ?

sun and moon belong in the sky
seas are wet and deserts are dry
all such things are taken to be self-evident truths
ah, but touching love from the heart
some don't have a clue where to start
how come some become so afraid ?
how come some reject understanding ?

hypocritters claim an exclusive right to apportion shame
but I disavow them
they would have me feed on a pack of lies but they won't succeed
cos I won't allow them
let them rant and rave, I'll not be their slave
brazenly I'll brave with a common sense my own self-defence
let them seek to scathe and scar
I know them for what they are
nothing can touch the person that I adore
