I Think of You

when the evening comes and all the scarlet in the sky begins to fade away
gradually the dying rays of light release my thoughts and they begin to stray
step by step retreating and returning to a world that they once knew
darling in the darkness of the night I think of you

when the rising moon emblazons clouds on the horizon drifting wispily
all the silverness outlining silhouettes and shapes evokes a memory
peeringly I fix my gaze and reminiscences come into view
darling in the darkness of the night I think of you

a canopy above of blue topaz
a velvet lining for a million stars
and one among the million always has
the brightness of a super nova even though its life is over

remembering glances wander near and far
across the constellations in the sky
alighting always on one single star
there high upon the topaz lining, motionless and ever shining

when I stare in stillness at the stars up in the sky and salty teardrops run
always in that moment my attention once more focusses on only one
when that star is shining in the deepest and the loneliest blue
darling in the darkness of the night I think of you
