Why Did You Say Goodbye ?

I look around once more and see my world is covered in familiar sombre hanging haze
I ask myself the question that I've asked myself so many times in half a million ways
and still the answer doesn't come, there's only cloudiness as I stare in the sky
for every day I wonder why
why did you go, my love ? I'll never know, my love
could there have been some other way for me to show my love ?

I ask myself and once again I look for reasons but I don't know where or when to start
I wonder if you really know you left behind a broken lover and a broken heart
I never solve the mystery of why you left without a word, no matter how I try
with every day that passes by

and though I know it goes against all reason
you're there in every single thing I do
no matter if the day is bright, or even in the darkest night
my every single thought still turns to you

although I do my utmost to dismiss them
the memories return as if on cue
I tell myself that love is dead, but though the words are in my head
I cannot think of anyone but you

I realise there's little point in searching for the untold reasons of that 'moment when'
I've told myself repeatedly forget the past and then somehow you'll learn to love again
but it is just a waste of time, I always seem to see you, and my feelings cry
