Sun and Rain

life is sun and rain
sometimes there is happiness and sometimes pain
oh yes, I've been there through storms and weather fair
and I always kept walking through that sun and rain

I've seen soft sunrise
when a morning symphony played in the skies
and it made me pretend the day would never end
but, tell you what, there always was that sun and rain

wonderful days that at the time I didn't notice at all
I didn't know till I had seen both the sun shine and the rain fall

and while the sun was shining bright I didn't see my mistakes
to lose the light and stand beneath the hardest rain, that's what it takes

sometimes strength was gone
and I nearly lost the will to carry on
when feeling so inclined I stopped and brought to mind
the images of brighter days to come again

and I just kept on walking through that sun and rain
