the needle clunks as it falls in the groove
the living room has turned into a palais de danse

and even more party-poppers come round ringing the bell
and even more start to pour through the door
and when they hear the music with their baby in hand
they join the dancing on the living-room floor

Jimmy stands with feet open wide

bringing her right back with a tow

all the boys super slicky with their brilliantine hair
and all the girls keep on shouting for more
and when the music's playing on a Saturday night
