A Crying Shame

I thought I'd found one love that was true
I guess I should have realised I was being too simplistic

I thought I'd found one lover for life
I guess I didn't understand I was being stupid

I thought that love was something to share
but when I reached to touch it it wasn't there

I thought I'd found one love ever more
now wasn't that a silly thing to be sure

well I've only myself to blame
cos I thought I knew the game
now ain't that just a crying shame

I am a simple fool for love
admittedly naïve
and when somebody says it's love
I let my heart believe

I thought that love was something to share
but when I reached to touch it it wasn't there

I thought I'd found one love ever more
now wasn't that a silly thing to be sure
