I Will Live For Love

I will not be persuaded despite disclaiming voices
that there is nothing meaningful on earth
I don't accept that notion, that painful proposition
that nothing worldly has a sense of worth
though I can't understand this complicated process
it is obvious that something moves it all

I will live for love, I will die for love
I believe this simple thing because it's true
when I breathe my last I will hold on fast
to the thing that proves it all - my love with you

what need for justifying my simple understanding
that I have something beautiful right here ?
something that's life-enhancing, something that gives it purpose
something that makes the meaning crystal clear
why should I dwell upon, dissect and then deliberate
the nuance and the shading of it all ?

I know that cynical and negative philosophers
can argue all the what and why and where
but I don't feel I need apologise to anyone at all
for feeling good because I care

no need for deconstruction, no need for analyzing
no need for scrutinising what I feel
this sense of my belonging, of what is most important
my head and heart accept that it is real
whatever words are used, there is no power on earth
that will persuade me to abandon this belief
