you want to praise the rosiness of dawn ?
much better curse the day that you were born
each tender platitude of pulchritude you spawn's
a candidate for scorn

perhaps you think the moon is your delight ?
you'd better put your innocence to flight
you'd better cotton-wool your sentiments tonight
and cast them out of sight, cos

silently the hands are reaching 20:30
sentimental songs are decadent and dirty
nothing has a tune
and any singer mouthing love is just a loon
deserving pity and cynical laughter

shine within, shine without
fear no evil, abandon the doubt
be not afraid to shine on what you can do
and to believe that anything can come true
let not your fantasy be trivialised
dream any dream and it can be realised

mayhap that you are wanting to construe
a paeon to a firmament of blue ?
it's pointless and a thing I really do
suggest that you eschew

or then again painstakingly prepare
a secret and a confidence to share
with everyone, so cast them in the air
but nobody would care cos
