maybe in some future time
maybe in some future place
poems will run out of rhyme
planets won't float out in space
water will travel uphill
grass will no longer be green
and one and one plus two will be seventeen
one day just after forever - it could be

one day in time yet to come
birds will not fly in the air
triangles won't have three sides
circles will start to be square
oceans will float in the sky
roaring volcanoes will freeze
one day the moon above will be made of cheese
one day just after forever - it could be

one day it will be
I'll look and I will see
this earth stand still
that day I'll be free
but not until . . .

one day I won't need your love
one day my heart will be free
one day your love will be gone
and you won't matter to me
one day the sun will not shine
one day the stars will not glow
one day the sky will fall to the earth below
one day just after forever

one day and that will be never
